Senior Manager

Job Description : Senior Manager Mechanical for our Beneficiation Plant in Nigeria. The Senior Manager will lead and manage all mechanical maintenance activities, ensuring the efficient operation of the plants mechanical equipment and systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, plant operations, and maintenance management within the mining and mineral processing industry. Key Responsibilities Mechanical Maintenance & Operations o Oversee the maintenance, repair, and operation of all mechanical equipment and systems within the beneficiation plant, including crushers, conveyors, mills, pumps, and other key machinery. o Develop and implement preventive maintenance (PM) programs to ensure the longevity and reliability of all mechanical systems. o Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for mechanical failures and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime. o Ensure that the mechanical systems and equipment comply with all safety, quality, and environmental standards. Team Leadership & Management-Lead, mentor, and manage a team of mechanical engineers, technicians, and maintenance personnel. o Ensure that all team members are properly trained in best practices, safety protocols, and maintenance procedures. o Foster a culture of teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement within the maintenance department.Budgeting & Cost Control- Develop and manage the mechanical maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective operations and minimizing unplanned downtime. o Monitor and report on expenses related to mechanical maintenance, ensuring that expenditures are within budget. Project Management-Plan and execute mechanical upgrades, equipment installations, and modifications to improve plant efficiency and performance. o Manage project timelines, resources, and stakeholders to ensure successful completion of mechanical projects. o Collaborate with other departments to ensure the seamless integration of mechanical systems with other areas of the plant. Reporting & Documentation-Maintain accurate records of mechanical maintenance activities, including service reports, inspections, and work orders. o Provide regular updates and reports to the Plant Manager and senior management on the status of mechanical systems, maintenance activities, and any ongoing issues. o Prepare technical documentation and manuals for mechanical systems and procedures. Continuous Improvement-Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reduction in mechanical operations. o Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant reliability, reduce downtime, and increase productivity.
