IT Manager

Job Description : IT MANAGER NIGERIA 12-15 years experience The IT Manager / ICT Officer will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of the company's information technology infrastructure and systems. This role involves ensuring the efficiency, security, and reliability of IT systems, managing IT staff, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring that IT supports the company's goals and operations effectively. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, hardware, and software systems. Develop and implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure the security, stability, and efficiency of the companys IT systems. Monitor the performance of IT systems and take corrective action when necessary to prevent disruptions or downtime. Manage and maintain the companys local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and other communication systems to ensure reliable and efficient operations. Ensure data security, disaster recovery planning, and compliance with industry regulations and company policies. Collaborate with other departments to assess their IT needs and ensure that technology solutions are aligned with organizational objectives. Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for hardware, software, and IT services. Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and cybersecurity threats to ensure the company remains competitive and secure. Manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and resource allocation for all IT-related projects. Provide support and training for end-users to enhance their understanding and use of IT systems. Develop and maintain comprehensive IT documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and disaster recovery plans. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner to minimize operational disruptions. Required Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. (Masters degree preferred) Proven experience as an IT Manager, ICT Officer, or in a similar IT leadership role. Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, network management, and enterprise systems. Experience with network security, data protection, and disaster recovery strategies. Familiarity with cloud computing, virtualization technologies, and server management. Proficiency with office productivity software (e.g., MS Office, Google Workspace), email systems, and database management systems. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong project management skills and experience in leading IT-related projects. Experience with IT asset management and vendor management. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments. Certifications such as ITIL, Cisco, Microsoft, or CompTIA are a plus. Experience in the [industry, e.g., Oil & Gas] is highly preferred. Preferred Skills: Knowledge of ERP systems, business intelligence tools, and other enterprise software. Familiarity with mobile device management (MDM) and remote work technologies. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. Strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor junior IT staff.
