Port Manager 

Job Description : PORT MANAGER SURINAME PARFIND N.V. is a young dynamic company that is expanding a port facility. There are currently good career opportunities in our company. To expand our team, we are immediately looking for candidates for the following position: Main responsibilities: · Respond promptly and proactively to daily inquiries from agents, ensuring clear and effective communication. · Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and environmental standards. • Streamline operational processes to improve efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness. • Lead personnel management, including recruitment, training, and ongoing development of the team. · Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with customers, suppliers, and other key stakeholders. • Prepare, manage, and monitor operational budgets to ensure financial efficiency and effectiveness. · Monitor and report on port performance to senior management, making recommendations for improvements. · Implement innovative solutions to improve port operations while ensuring industry compliance. • Strong understanding of the layout of terminals and their operational efficiency. · Implement and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure operational consistency and accuracy. · Work in strict accordance with SOPs to uphold high standards of operational integrity Job Requirements: · Bachelor's degree in logistics, shipping management or a related field. · Proven experience in port operations, including loading/unloading international cargo vessels (container, bulk, break bulk, RORO, offshore oil rig supply, wood logs, etc.). · In-depth knowledge of ISPS (International Ship and Port Facility Security) standards. · Expertise in optimizing traffic flow and ensuring efficient organization of containers and supplies during offloading. · Experience in developing port infrastructure, utilities, and operations from the ground up. • Strong back-office management experience with a focus on process optimization and attention to detail. · Solid understanding of Human Resources (HR) practices, including recruitment, training, and development. · Proven experience liaising with government agencies and customs authorities to ensure compliance and smooth operations. · Fluent in English · A challenging position with sufficient career opportunities. · A professional and dynamic working environment. · Good salary and secondary conditions.
