Procurement and Supply Chain Head 

Job Description : Head of Procurement and Supply Chain for a mining company DENMARK is responsible for developing and executing procurement and supply chain strategies to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations. This role involves leading a team, managing supplier relationships, optimizing inventory, and mitigating supply chain risks specific to the mining industry. Key Responsibilities: · Strategic Planning: Develop and implement procurement and supply chain strategies that align with the company's overall objectives, including cost reduction, risk mitigation, and supplier performance improvement. · Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers, build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, and negotiate contracts. · Procurement Operations: Manage the procurement process from requisition to receipt and inspection, ensuring timely and accurate order placement and tracking. · Supply Chain Optimization: Monitor inventory levels, coordinate with inventory management teams, and proactively address potential shortages or surpluses. · Risk Management: Identify and implement strategies to mitigate supply chain risks, such as natural disasters, geopolitical instability, and price fluctuations. · Cost Reduction: Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives, such as supplier negotiations, volume discounts, and alternative sourcing options. · Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of procurement and supply chain professionals. · Performance Monitoring: Monitor and report on procurement costs, savings, and other key performance metrics. · Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards. Qualifications: · Education: A Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management) is typically required, with a Master's degree or certifications like CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) or CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply) being beneficial. · Experience: Extensive experience in procurement and supply chain management, preferably in a mining or similar industry, is essential. · Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills are crucial, along with the ability to manage complex projects and build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. · Industry Knowledge: A deep understanding of the mining industry, including its specific needs and challenges, is highly valuable. · Software Proficiency: Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and procurement software is often required.
