Job Description : Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for a well-respected company based in Reno, Nevada. Known for its outstanding reputation among customers, employees, and the community, this organization is looking for a CFO to provide both strategic and transactional financial leadership. This role requires expertise in construction finance, strategic planning, risk management, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial leadership within the construction or real estate development industry. Additionally, they will serve as the organization’s chief financial spokesperson and report directly to the President. Oversee and review the preparation of monthly financial statements in collaboration with the Controller and Accounting team. • Partner with the President and executive team to formulate and execute financial strategies aligned with organizational objectives. • Deliver actionable financial insights and recommendations to guide strategic decision-making processes. • Provide regular updates to the President and stakeholders on financial performance, key performance indicators, and potential financial risks. • Direct all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and comprehensive financial reporting. • Ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), tax regulations, and industry-specific accounting standards, with a focus on construction practices. • Supervise the preparation of financial statements, coordination of audits and management of reporting processes. • Oversee cash flow and working capital, including credit lines, to optimize liquidity and financial stability. • Assess capital investment opportunities and funding strategies to drive business expansion and growth. • Manage company assets, including vehicles, facilities, and equipment, ensuring efficient utilization and maintenance. • Identify and evaluate financial risks, developing and implementing mitigation strategies in alignment with insurance requirements, regulatory standards, and internal policies. • Manage audit processes to uphold financial accuracy, transparency, and integrity. • Collaborate with operations and project management teams to track project costs, profitability, and cash flow, ensuring financial alignment with operational goals. • Assess and enhance financial systems, reporting tools, and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy. • Contribute financial expertise to business development efforts, supporting strategic decisions with data-driven insights. • Lead and mentor the finance team, cultivating a collaborative, high-performing culture focused on excellence. • Provide guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities to support team members’ growth and success. Requirements • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position, preferably in the construction/contractor industry. • Proven expertise in Accounting Software Systems, with a focus on the implementation and management of these systems. • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in managing Business Systems within an organization. • Proficiency in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software and its strategic use in business. • Extensive experience in overseeing Accounting Functions, including but not limited to, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting. • Solid experience in Auditing, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations and company policies. • Proven track record in managing Budget Processes, forecasting needs, tracking budget expenses, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions. • Experience in Capital Management, with the ability to strategize and implement capital raise efforts. • Expertise in Cash Flow Analysis, with the ability to predict and monitor the company's cash flow.
