Engineering and Maintenance Head

Job Description : Head of Engineering & Maintenance (Mining), for a mine in West Africa. I am on the lookout for a hands-on, forward-thinking Engineering & Maintenance HOD to lead our site’s engineering and maintenance function. If you thrive in the mining world and love keeping things running smoothly—from heavy equipment to infrastructure—this role might be for you. What you’ll be expected to do: - Lead and mentor a skilled engineering and maintenance team - Keep all mining equipment and infrastructure in peak condition - Ensure safety, compliance, and efficient operations - Work closely with operations to meet production goals - Drive improvements and reduce downtime This is what we’re looking for: - Strong leadership in a mining or heavy industry environment (Experience managing large teams and projects) - Solid background in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering - A proactive, solutions-focused mindset - Relevant engineering degree or equivalent experience - Minimum +15 years of experience in engineering and maintenance roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial position, preferably in the mining or heavy industry sectors. - Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. - Professional engineering certification preferred
