General Manager

Job Description : GM PLANT OPERATIONS FOR PLASTIC EAST AFRICA General Manager- Plastic - Manage & coordinate plant operations including planning, production, maintenance, quality & new projects. - Provide direction to subordinate managers, offering professional expertise. - Monitor performance to ensure that all objectives are achieved within timelines and budget. - Prepare documentation in line with engineering protocols and regulations. - Ensure products are compliant with specifications of customers. - Develop and train personnel. - Improve end product quality both on costing and customer expectations. -Develop production plans and meet the same. - Direct department improvement activities by building cost reduction initiatives, capital project plan and improvement activities - Ensures equipment is maintained and in good working condition by scheduling timely and routine preventative maintenance to improve equipment reliability. - Develop a cohesive team Knowledge & Skills : - Well versed with the compliances under SEDEX, BRC and ISO 22000. - Computer knowledge (ERP knowledge is desired) - Fluent in written and verbal English - Strong analytical and creative in problem solving skills - Knowledge of SEDEX, BRC and ISO 22000 is required. - Must have experience of managing large capital investment projects and handling of 200-300 people. - Experience in handling extrusion, thermoforming and calendar lines will be considered as relevant. - Strong learning aptitude and basic understanding of high volume manufacturing. - Intermediate to advanced computer skills to include MS Office, Microsoft Project or equivalent.
