Project Head 

Job Description : HEAD OF GREENFIELD PROJECT EAST AFRICA FOR LARGE POWER PLANT We are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to lead our large-scale, greenfield power plant project. The Head of Projects will oversee the end-to-end execution of a power plant construction project, from initial concept and design to commissioning and operational handover. The ideal candidate will possess 20-25 years of comprehensive experience in the power industry, with a proven track record of delivering large capacity power plant projects on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and environmental standards. Key Responsibilities: Project Leadership and Strategy: Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of greenfield large capacity power plant projects, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives. Define the project scope, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring clarity and consistency with senior management expectations. Develop and execute a detailed project execution plan, identifying key milestones, resources, and timelines. Team Management: Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of project managers, engineers, procurement specialists, and other professionals. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance across all project teams. Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to ensure the growth of project management talent within the organization. Stakeholder Management: Serve as the key point of contact for all internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities. Manage communications with stakeholders to ensure timely updates, issue resolution, and alignment on project status. Budget and Resource Management: Oversee project budgets, ensuring effective cost control and the prudent allocation of resources. Manage procurement of materials, equipment, and services, ensuring adherence to the project schedule and cost estimates. Monitor and optimize the allocation of human and material resources to maintain project momentum. Risk and Quality Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks to the project timeline, budget, and quality. Ensure strict adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards throughout the project lifecycle. Establish and implement a comprehensive quality assurance and control plan, ensuring the project meets all industry standards and client specifications. Project Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor project performance through regular status reports, KPIs, and performance metrics. Develop and implement corrective action plans when project objectives are not being met, ensuring timely and effective resolution of issues. Present project updates and critical reports to senior management, providing clear insights into project progress, challenges, and opportunities. Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical. Experience: 20-25 years of experience in managing large-scale, Greenfield power plant projects, with a strong focus on project delivery, commissioning, and operational readiness. Proven experience in managing power plant projects of large capacity (500 MW and above) from inception through to completion. Strong expertise in project planning, scheduling, risk management, procurement, and budgeting for large infrastructure projects. In-depth knowledge of international power plant standards, engineering codes, and regulations. Skills: Exceptional leadership and team management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to risk management and troubleshooting. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities in a high-pressure environment.
