Job Description : PROJECT HEAD INDIA for a highly experienced technical leader to head the execution, commissioning, and operations of a large-scale greenfield integrated steel plant. The ideal candidate will have 25-30 years of experience in steelmaking, rolling, and integrated steel plant operations. This role requires strategic leadership, deep technical expertise, and hands-on experience in successfully managing end-to-end project execution and post-commissioning operations especially in DRI, EAF and Thin Slab Casting and Rolling. Job Description Ensure technology selection prioritizes lower Capex and Opex while taking proven technologies. Work closely with engineering consultants to design optimal solutions for the plant. Engage and negotiate with top OEMs to secure the best technological and equipment solutions for the project. Oversee technology selection, material balancing, and metallurgy understanding for premium steel production. Ensure the capability to produce high-value steel products such as silicon steel, tin plate, thin-coated HR products, CRNO, ZAM products, and white goods appliance steel. Lead the execution of the integrated steel plant project from inception to successful commissioning. Oversee project planning, engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning. Ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Develop and implement strategies for efficient plant operations post-commissioning. Lead technical teams in steelmaking, rolling, and downstream processes to optimize productivity and cost efficiency. Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements. Implement best practices in maintenance, process improvement, and technological advancements. Build and mentor a high-performing technical team for smooth operations and continuous improvements. Collaborate with stakeholders, vendors, and government authorities for seamless execution. Drive innovation and sustainability initiatives in steel production and plant operations. The Successful Applicant B.Tech/M.Tech in Metallurgical, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline. 25-30 years of experience in steelmaking, rolling, and integrated steel plant operations. Proven track record of successfully executing large-scale steel plant projects. Strong technical expertise in electric arc furnaces, coal and gas-based DRI, pellet plants, ladle furnaces, degassing processes, thin casting and rolling, and downstream processing. Experience in managing large teams and working with global technology providers. Excellent leadership, strategic planning, and decision-making abilities. Understanding of industry best practices, digital transformation, and automation in steel plants. Strong stakeholder management and ability to liaise with government agencies. Fluency in Hindi and English. Hands-on experience in project execution and plant commissioning. Expertise in steel plant operations, process optimization, and sustainability. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and crisis management skills.
