General Manager

Job Description : GM DRC Job Summary We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven General Manager in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment to oversee the end-to-end operations of our edible oil production facility. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in manufacturing processes, plant operations, supply chain coordination, and quality assurance, with a strong understanding of regulatory standards specific to the edible oil industry. Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Leadership: Lead the manufacturing strategy in alignment with company goals. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and cost efficiency. 2. Operations Management: Oversee daily plant operations including crushing, refining, packaging, and dispatch. Ensure optimal utilization of machinery, manpower, and raw materials. Maintain a strong focus on operational KPIs such as OEE, yield, downtime, and throughput. 3. Quality & Compliance: Ensure adherence to FSSAI, HACCP, ISO, and other food safety and quality standards. Liaise with quality control and R&D teams to maintain product integrity and innovation. 4. Supply Chain Coordination: Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and sales teams to ensure timely production and delivery. Monitor raw material availability and plan inventory. 5. Team Management: Lead, train, and develop a multidisciplinary team including production, maintenance, and quality assurance. Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and performance excellence. 6. Budgeting & Cost Control: Prepare and manage operational budgets; identify cost-saving opportunities. Monitor energy usage, waste management, and resource efficiency. 7. Stakeholder Reporting: Provide regular performance reports to senior management. Implement data-driven decision-making through ERP and plant automation systems. Qualifications & Experience Bachelors Degree in Mechanical / Chemical / Industrial Engineering or related field; MBA is a plus. Minimum 18 years of experience in manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the edible oil or food processing industry. Strong knowledge of refining technologies (physical/chemical), packaging systems, and automation. Familiarity with industry-specific software (ERP, SCADA, MES, etc.). Proven leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. **English and French Speaking is a must.
