Procurement Head

Job Description : PROCUREMENT HEAD METALS AND MINING WEST AFRICA 20+ years experience Lead end-to-end procurement activities including RFQ preparation, bid analysis, negotiations, and finalization of purchase orders/contracts. Develop and manage supplier relationships to ensure supply reliability, cost savings, and long-term strategic alignment. Source mining equipment, heavy machinery, MRO spares, explosives, lubricants, and site construction materials. Ensure compliance with corporate procurement policies, international trade regulations, and local content requirements. Coordinate with operations, planning, logistics, and finance teams for seamless delivery and vendor payments. Conduct market intelligence and benchmarking to ensure competitive pricing and quality standards. Manage supplier audits, performance reviews, and corrective action plans. Negotiate long-term agreements and framework contracts for high-value and recurring purchases. Maintain accurate procurement records, reports, and documentation using ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent). Support localization initiatives and capacity building for local supplier ecosystems. Experience working in Africa or other frontier markets. Familiarity with sourcing critical mining inputs under tight timelines. Ability to work independently in remote, multi-cultural, and logistically challenging environments. Fluent in English; French/Portuguese would be an added advantage
