Job Description : Electrical Manager Gas Process Plant Project Location: Lagos, Nigeria Experience Required: 20+ Years Industry: Oil & Gas Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Electrical Manager to lead and oversee all electrical engineering activities for a large-scale Gas Processing Plant project. The ideal candidate must have over 20 years of hands-on experience in 32 kV transmission systems, 30–40 MW motor installations, and variable frequency drive systems, along with deep expertise in design, engineering, commissioning, and troubleshooting of high-voltage electrical infrastructure in industrial settings. Key Responsibilities: · Lead electrical engineering design, planning, and execution for the gas process plant project. · Manage installation, testing, and commissioning of 32 kV transmission lines, high-capacity motors (30–40 MW), and VFD systems. · Review and approve electrical engineering drawings, specifications, and vendor deliverables. · Supervise detailed design activities related to substations, switchgear, power distribution, earthing, lightning protection, and control systems. · Ensure compliance with international electrical standards (IEC/IEEE/NEC) and HSE requirements. · Conduct root cause analysis and resolve complex technical issues related to high-power electrical systems. · Coordinate with cross-functional project teams, vendors, and contractors to ensure seamless project execution. · Develop and monitor project schedules, budgets, and procurement strategies for electrical packages. · Implement energy efficiency practices and risk mitigation measures. · Support plant commissioning, start-up, and handover phases, ensuring smooth transition to operations. Key Skills and Expertise: · Expertise in 32 kV transmission systems design, protection, and operations. · In-depth knowledge of 30–40 MW motor technologies, including synchronous and induction types. · Advanced experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), harmonics, and load management. · Strong troubleshooting skills for complex electrical systems under operational stress. · Familiarity with power system studies – load flow, short-circuit, relay coordination, motor starting analysis. · Proficient in electrical design tools (e.g., ETAP, SKM, AutoCAD Electrical). · Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills. Qualifications: · BE/B.Tech in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred). · Proven experience in gas processing or oil & gas sector is highly desirable.
