Chief Financial officer

Job Description : Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Location: Nairobi, Kenya Reports to: Group CEO Entities: Integrated meat processing, poultry farming, and premium meat retail chain Compensation: Competitive and based on experience This is a key leadership role for an experienced finance professional to lead financial strategy, improve controls, and support business growth across multiple entities serving local and international markets. Job Responsibilities: * Develop and lead the financial strategy aligned with business goals * Support CEO and leadership in financial planning and decision-making * Drive risk management, cost control, and business transformation * Lead budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting * Ensure compliance with IFRS/GAAP and handle audits with Big 4 firms * Oversee ERP implementation and improve reporting systems * Manage cash flow, banking relationships, debt, and FX * Strengthen financial controls, inventory, and asset management * Improve procurement oversight and supplier credit policies * Support project finance, especially construction projects * Lead cost-saving initiatives and improve working capital * Build and lead a strong finance and accounting team * Coach and mentor team members and promote accountability * Set KPIs to track performance and results Requirements: * Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field (Master’s preferred) * CPA, CA or equivalent qualification is required * At least 15 years of financial leadership experience in FMCG, retail, or food manufacturing * Experience with ERP systems, process improvement, and financial restructuring * Previous work with Big 4 auditors is required * Experience with private equity and investor relations is a plus * Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills Personal Attributes: * Strategic thinker with a practical approach * Results-oriented and hands-on * High integrity and professionalism * Good communication and stakeholder management skills * Able to adapt in a fast-changing environment
