Fleet Operations Manager

Job Description : FLEET Operations Manager (Scania Trucks / MAN Trucks / Hitachi Equipment / Load and Haul) – Kenya Job Description: Seeking an experienced Fleet Operations Manager with a background in Goldmines / operations to manage their fleet operations on site in Kenya, for loading and hauling and transporting of ore to the plant. Responsibilities: • Overseeing haulage operations in line with agreed contract terms with the client. • Ensuring optimized utilization of trucks, equipment and personnel to provide service efficiency. • Managing maintenance team, plant operators, haulage drivers and support staff. • Ensuring daily haulage targets are achieved through maximum trips per truck per day. • Tracking of mileage, fuel consumption, tyre consumption and downtime. • Creating and implementing planned preventative maintenance programs for all vehicles and equipment. • Continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency. • Fostering a team culture of positivity and interdepartmental cohesion. • Mentoring and training of subordinates. Requirements: Qualification and Skill • Accredited bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar relevant field. • Training or certification in supply chain management. • 10 years previous experience in fleet operations management for load and haul and transporting of ore within a cement / quarrying / limestone or mining environment. • Well-versed in creating and implementing fleet policies from acquisition to replacement cycle. • Good coordination of maintenance operations and planning. • Strong problem-solving, communication and team management skills with the ability to create positive interdepartmental relationships. • Able to work achieve stringent deadlines. • Proven experience providing mentoring and training. • Previous expatriate experience in East Africa preferred.
