Production Head

Job Description : PRODUCTION HEAD FOR FERTILIZER EGYPT The DAP Head will be responsible for the end-to-end operations of the DAP (Diammonium Phosphate) fertilizer operations in Egypt. He will coordinate closely with the Sulphuric Acid and Phosphoric Acid Production Heads for integration of overall fertilizer complex. He will also coordinate closely with the Engineering department for preventive and predictive maintenance. Core Responsibilities Strategic & Leadership: Ensure that the plant is operating at full capacity and at par with global benchmark levels in terms of efficiency, reliability, cost, quality, EHS aspects and other related parameters To implement business plans for DAP vertical in alignment with overall fertilizer strategy. Identify opportunities new market opportunities, partnerships, and product development avenues. Monitor market trends, raw material price movements and global DAP trade dynamics. Plant & Operations Management: Oversee production, maintenance, and engineering operations to ensure continuous, safe, and efficient manufacturing. Lead TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and TQM (Total Quality Management) activities to achieve high level of performance of the plant. Liaise with Commercial and Maintenance, departments to ensure availability of consumables, raw materials and equipment in order to minimize any impact on production operations / plans. Coordinate logistics and warehousing for efficient distribution across Egypt and potential export markets. Liaise with fertilizer and industrial consumers (internal and external) to manage demand-supply balance. Ensure strict adherence to environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards and compliance with Egyptian regulatory bodies. Implement best practices in operational excellence, energy efficiency, and emissions reduction. Analyse Accidents & Environmental Monitoring Data and take Corrective and Preventive Actions, wherever necessary to prevent reoccurrence Ensure timely MIS reporting in the form of daily/weekly/monthly/annual reports as applicable and agreed both at opco and IRC level. Drive cost optimization, energy efficiency, and resource utilization across the supply chain. People & Team Development: Lead and develop a team of plant managers, engineers, safety officers, and commercial executives. Build a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. Ensure training & development of team members as per their role requirements. External Relations & Sustainability: Represent the company in discussions with government bodies, environmental authorities, and industry associations. Promote and implement circular economy initiatives, emissions controls, and waste heat recovery projects Skills / Knowledge / Competencies Strong understanding of fertilizer production processes, import/export regulations, and agronomy practices in Egypt Familiarity with Egyptian and MENA agricultural sector dynamics Time management skills; ability to prioritize Knowledge of TPM and TQM Time management skills; ability to prioritize Ability of manage plant operations independently Bachelors/Masters degree in Agriculture, Chemical Engineering Masters degree is an advantage Minimum 20 years of experience in agro/fertilizer manufacturing with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles focused on DAP products
