Transport Manager

Job Description : Transport Manager Key Responsibilities: Fleet & Operations Management Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of truck dispatch operations. Monitor fleet performance, route efficiency, and fuel consumption. Ensure timely deliveries to clients across Nigeria and minimize vehicle downtime. Manage vehicle documentation, registration and insurance renewals. DRIVER MANAGEMENT Supervise, train, and evaluate truck drivers to ensure adherence to safety, productivity, and company policies. Enforce disciplinary procedures and manage driver schedules and assignments. Implement and monitor driver incentive programs based on performance. lOGISTICS & ROUTE PLANNIN Optimize routes and loads to reduce cost and improve delivery timelines. Ensure the use of GPS tracking and logistics software to monitor trucks in real-time. Coordinate return trips to minimize empty runs and improve vehicle utilization. MAINTENANACE OVERSIGHT Ensure timely maintenance and repairs of trucks to avoid breakdowns. Maintain a service log for each vehicle and follow up on mechanic reports. REGULATORY & SAFETY COMPLIANCE Ensure compliance with all relevant transport laws and standards (FRSC, NPA, NAFDAC, etc.). Conduct routine safety briefings and enforce health & safety procedures. COST CONTROL & REPORT Monitor operating costs and report variances (fuel, maintenance, penalties). Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports on transport operations to GM / ED-Logistics Recommend cost-saving measures and operational improvements. Salary very attractive Resumption date: Immediately
