Structural Manager

Job Description : STRUCTURAL MANAGER UAE The Structural Manager executes in-house Building Design Development Practice. Work with stimulating and high-profile projects both in Sharjah and other Emirates as well as providing technical and creative challenges. Drawing upon a diverse skill set and delivering most challenging and exciting projects. Job Responsibilities: · o Deliver multiple projects or parts of larger projects for completion, within the budget and program. o Ensure the provision of efficient, high-quality structural engineering design. o Be the first point of contact for Authorities, contractors, Structural design team and Structural third parties. o Support and guide junior members of the team. o Assist in managing the broader team through mentoring and training. o Design of Structural members such as RCC, Hot-rolled Steel, Precast, Post Tension, etc. o Preparation of Design Criteria, Structural Tender drawings, specification. o Participate in the project discussion with top management. o Review and assess environmental factors, government regulations, risk analysis, reports and to prepare a comprehensive study of all relevant design factors. o Research existing and new material technology to determine practical applications, strength and durability expectations and cost-benefits information, and prepare material recommendations for current and future projects. o Liaise with the Employer’s representative at site, Supervision Consultant, Main Contractors, Subcontractor to ensure that the buildings are structurally sound and safe. o Conversant with design of structures for wind and seismic loads. o Design of common structural materials as well as a good understating of current design standards and working practices. o Translate broad range of technical skills into imaginative ideas which enhance the quality of designs. o Develop projects from concept to construction stage. o Assist in preparing bids and generally enhance project success. o Actively manage Local Authority, team of Structural Engineers, draftsman. o Manage and work within the budget and program, to control costs and manage change control processes. o Build good relationships with all other team members, management and local authorities. o Effectively manage own time, which may be necessary if allocated to more than one project. Job Requirements: · o Structural Engineer (MIStructE or MICE) o Bachelor’s/Master degree in Structural Engineering or Civil o 15+ years with minimum 10+ years’ experience in UAE (Consultancy background who could advice on design modifications for existing and future concepts) o Be a technical champion within the team. o Technically excellent manager, with established skills and delivery capability. o Exposure to latest practices and methods for building construction and related structures. o Knowledge and skill in the latest computer aided/design soft wares, drafting software’s, design standards, all local authorities’ rules and regulations o Excellent knowledge of Local Authority licenses/ Certifications. o Proficient in various international building codes such as American, British & Indian codes. o A curious minded individual who enjoys the stimulation of exchanging ideas with others. o Ability to make decisions, act on own initiative and operate in a pro-active way. o Experience of working with, and managing, small focused project teams. o A flexible attitude to both the type of work undertaken and the level of responsibility given. o Excellent communication and presentation skills that can support Architectural, MEP and Infrastructure Design developments, Authority relationships. Salary: AED 20,000 – 30,000
