Engineering Head

Job Description : ENGINEERING HEAD DUBAI We are looking for a Head of Engineering – Mobile to lead the mobile engineering function and shape our mobile applications' vision, architecture, and delivery. In this leadership role, you will manage and scale high-performing Android and iOS teams, collaborate closely with product and design counterparts, and ensure our mobile experiences are reliable, performant, and user-centric. You’ll be responsible for evolving our mobile strategy, driving engineering excellence, and enabling the teams to build seamless experiences that power critical customer journeys. What You Will Do Mobile Engineering Leadership Own our mobile applications' architecture, performance, and reliability across Android and iOS platforms. Define and drive the technical roadmap and standards for mobile development. Ensure the mobile codebases are modular, maintainable, and aligned with platform guidelines. Set and enforce engineering best practices for versioning, releases, test automation, monitoring, and crash analytics. Team & People Management Led, mentored, and grew Android and iOS engineering teams, including EMs and senior ICs. Foster a collaborative, inclusive, high-performance culture promoting learning and innovation. Define organizational structure and hiring plans to support team growth and delivery goals. Cross-Functional Product Collaboration Partner with Product, Design, and Backend Engineering to translate business needs into seamless mobile experiences. Ensure delivery of high-quality features that meet usability, accessibility, and performance benchmarks. Participate in planning, prioritization, and OKR alignment for mobile squads. Delivery, Quality & Operations Own the mobile delivery lifecycle from design to deployment and app store submission. Establish clear SLAs around crash-free sessions, app load time, responsiveness, and regression handling. Ensure strong observability, monitoring, and root cause analysis practices. Coordinate closely with support and release teams on production readiness and incident handling. What You Will Need 10+ years of engineering experience, with at least 3–5 years leading mobile teams at scale. Proven track record of building and scaling mobile apps in consumer-facing or product-led businesses. Deep knowledge of native Android (Kotlin) and iOS (Swift) development, with exposure to hybrid stacks if relevant. Experience with mobile app architecture patterns (MVVM, Redux, Clean Architecture). Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, crash analytics (e.g., Firebase Crashlytics), A/B testing, and analytics integration. Strong understanding of app performance optimization, offline-first design, and mobile security best practices. Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills. Nice to Have Experience in fintech, mobility, or other transactional platforms. Exposure to accessibility standards, multi-lingual UX, or mobile experimentation frameworks. Experience leading apps with 1M+ DAUs or across emerging markets.
