Industry: Pharma Preferring: • Seasoned professionals from Pharma Industry with experience of handling overall Plant Activities like Operations, Production, Supply Chain, Quality, Planning & HR Manager – Plant & Machinery (P&M) Sohar, Oman Department: Plant & Machinery / Project Support Industry: Oil & Gas / EPC / Construction Job Summary Looking for experienced P&M Manager to oversee the safe operation, maintenance, and utilization of plant equipment and machinery at our Oil & Gas project site. Candidate will bring strong knowledge of construction equipment, spare parts management, workshop coordination, and team leadership, with a focus on safety, uptime, and compliance. Responsibilities Plant & Equipment Management Ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all heavy machinery and plant equipment including cranes, compressors, welding machines, generators, and lifting tools. Monitor equipment performance, preventive maintenance schedules, and repair activities. Maintain equipment utilization reports and plan resource deployment as per project requirements. Spare Parts & Inventory Maintain optimum inventory levels of critical and fast-moving spare parts. Coordinate with procurement for ordering spares and consumables based on usage trends and lead times. Implement systems to track spare usage, minimize pilferage, and improve cost control. Workshop Operations Oversee P&M workshop activities for repair, fabrication, and refurbishment tasks. Ensure workshop safety protocols, tool control, and quality checks are maintained. Monitor technician performance and turnaround time for equipment repairs. Team & Workmen Management Supervise a team of operators, technicians, mechanics, and helpers. Conduct toolbox talks, skill assessments, and periodic training for P&M personnel. Enforce discipline, safety standards, and productivity targets on-site and in the workshop. Safety & Compliance Ensure strict adherence to HSE norms for machinery operation and maintenance. Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations related to equipment. Keep documentation ready for client and third-party inspections. Communication & Coordination Liaise with site execution teams, planning, safety, and procurement departments for equipment scheduling, breakdown support, and spares availability. Prepare and present regular reports on equipment status, downtime analysis, and maintenance KPIs to senior management. Qualifications & Experience B.Tech/Diploma 1) in Mechanical Engineering & Gas, Infrastructure, or EPC projects. Understanding of equipment operation, maintenance practices, and HSE requirements. Familiar with OEM manuals, CMMS systems, and basic SAP or ERP platforms. Plant & Equipment Operation Preventive Maintenance Planning Spare Parts & Inventory Control Effective Communication & Coordination Safety Compliance & Risk Management Preferred Certifications (Optional but Advantageous) Certification in Equipment Safety / Lifting Tools & Tackles HSE Awareness or IOSH/NEBOSH Certification CMMS/ERP training in maintenance modules
