8 yearsJob Description : Manager – Procurement Sohar, Oman Department: Supply Chain / Procurement Industry: Oil & Gas / EPC Projects Seeking a proactive and strategic Procurement Manager to lead procurement and sourcing activities for a major Oil & Gas project in Sohar. Depth knowledge of SCM policies, project procurement planning, vendor management, SAP systems, and strong commercial acumen. This role is critical in ensuring timely, cost-effective, and compliant sourcing aligned with project goals. Key Responsibilities Strategic Procurement Planning Develop and implement project-specific procurement strategies in alignment with overall project timelines and budgets. Drive procurement planning, including materials forecasting, category strategy, and long-lead item management. Ensure alignment with organizational and client-specific SCM policies and procedures. Commercial & Contractual Expertise Prepare and review RFQs, commercial bid evaluations, purchase orders, and contract terms. Ensure commercial terms are optimized for cost, risk, delivery, and compliance. Handle contractual negotiations including payment terms, LD clauses, warranties, and claims. Vendor & Supplier Management Identify, qualify, and manage a robust vendor base locally and internationally. Evaluate vendor performance against KPIs (cost, quality, delivery, and service). Foster long-term supplier relationships and strategic partnerships for key materials and services. SAP & Process Excellence Manage procurement workflows through SAP (MM Module), ensuring compliance and accuracy of data. Drive digitization and process improvements to increase procurement efficiency and transparency. Generate procurement reports, dashboards, and analytics for management review. Negotiation & Stakeholder Communication Lead commercial negotiations with vendors, service providers, and subcontractors to secure optimal terms. Liaise effectively with internal stakeholders – engineering, planning, commercial, and project teams. Represent procurement function in internal and client review meetings. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration. 8–12 years of exp in Procurement/Supply Chain roles within the Oil & Gas or EPC sector, preferably with project working on large capital projects, including procurement of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and civil packages. Strong knowledge of SCM policies, contract management, and commercial terms. Proficiency in SAP (MM Module) and MS Office tools.
