20 yearsJob Description : HEAD OF INBOUND LOGISTICS UK Open to International candidates The Head of Inbound Logistics leads our Inbound Logistics function with full accountability for delivery of product from source to warehouse, covering a diverse sourcing base of 30 countries and 200 vendors across Asia and Europe. You will lead a team of 17 people, covering Inbound Planning, Import / Export, Customs, Supply Chain Development, and Supplier Analysis. The role will be based in Liverpool, working on a hybrid basis. You will be working closely with senior members of Sourcing and Category (Buying & Merchandising) teams, 3PL partners, our Fulfilment Centres, Operations Senior Management Team and our Technology Teams., About the role: Reporting directly to the Inbound Supply Chain & Sourcing Director, the Head of Inbound Logistics is responsible for the physical movement of all product from suppliers to the UK. This person will take ownership for developing relationships with The Very Group’s global supply chain partners and internal stakeholders to deliver the most effective balance between the needs of the business and its customers. The Head of Inbound Logistics will be accountable for developing scalable strategic and operational plans that enable The Very Group’s growth strategy and builds a world-class, sustainable supply chain. The role holder will play a fundamental part to enable The Very Group to further strengthen its position as the UK’s leading integrated retail and financial services provider. This is a senior level role where the Head of Inbound Logistics will sit at the Ops board and be comfortable working alongside the senior leadership team. Key Responsibilities: Responsible for management of global 3PL partner (Kuehne + Nagel), including driving operational performance in line with KPIs, setting strategic direction and managing senior relationships in a fast-paced, high pressure environment Accountable for Inbound freight spend across all modes (Sea, Road, Rail, Air), must be able to manage within agreed budgets and constantly look for opportunities to optimise costs Provide regular, transparent reporting on Inbound delivery status, with clear guidance on impacts and potential future risks Control Inbound forecasting and planning process to provide clear visibility to all stakeholders (3PL, DCs, Buying & Merchandising, Sourcing) Accountable for full customs process, including standard imports and customer exports to Republic of Ireland Key contributor to Global Supply Chain KPIs with accountability for Inbound On Time, Lead Time, Container Utilisation, 20’ Container Usage amongst others Member of Operations, Sourcing & Global Supply Chain senior management teams, requiring strong relationships with internal stakeholders across multiple functions, being able to operate at the Ops board level Essential Requirements: An experienced Supply Chain professional who has a track record of delivering supply chain excellence, preferably in a retail environment Knowledge of developing, managing and leading global end-to-end supply chain projects A team player, focused on developing the Inbound Logistics team and delivering results with them Empowering and comfortable with being challenged Customer obsessed. Focused on understanding the needs of the customer, working back from this point to provide the right solutions In touch with new developments and trends across global supply chain
