Job Description : CEMENT LOGISTICS HEAD NIGERIA Logistics Head Job Purpose/Mission: My client recognizes the fact that logistics and supply chain management are critical for the smooth functioning of day to day business operation thereby becoming the preferred brand for its customers. Clear, timely and relevant internal and external communication is fundamental to the conduct of the business and establishment of relationships and reputation with its vendors. Responsible for achieving company's profitability objectives through last mile excellence, cost optimization through the usage of logistics tools, inventory management and liaison with Railways, inbound and outbound logistics, C&F & freight management. Business planning & Risk mitigation strategy. Dimensions - Scope of authority: Member of the Senior Management based at Corporate Office - Manages all logistics related activities both at plants & warehouses - Negotiates rentals, freight rates & CFA charges - Processing of logistics related bills - Reports directly to Executive Director and indirectly to Director Marketing Operations : - Execute logistics related activities as per laid out monthly, Quarterly and Annual operating plan of the company (Dispatches by rail and road, depot management, product mix dispatches, negotiating contracts, freight & CFA charges and claim settlements, depot audits Logistics KPI & KRA performance ) - Optimization and reduction in Total Delivered costs, timely servicing of orders as per plan Service levels agreement performance Norms compliance : - Reporting to management on various costs and new initiatives towards last mile excellence, Reconciliation of vendor accounts, negotiation of rates and rentals, reduction in railway charges and costs No. Of reports and new initiatives rolled out - % reduction in TDC under various heads - Execute / Contracts / rent agreements for various CFA and warehouses Compliance as per channel policy - Timely update of agreements - Norms compliance - Promote and contribute positively to achieving the company OH&S aims and targets Qualifications, including competencies, skill, knowledge : - Preferred Education: Graduation / Post Graduate - Preferred membership CII Institute of Logistics preferred - Preferred Experience: >18 years in SCM and Logistics - Computer skills End-user - Other Basic accounting experience - Think the Business, Planning & Strategy - Deliver Results & Energize and motivate people and team - Act as role model & Energizing People - Strong interpersonal and computation skills - Knowledge of SCM
