Operations Manager

Job Description : OPERATIONS MANAGER NIGERIA This position is responsible for complete operations of a Cables manufacturing plant which includes production, quality control, maintenance, logistics, materials management. Critical Task Ensure availability of plant and equipment according to the requirement Oversee management of all plant functions production, maintenance, quality, stores, logistics, human resources, local procurement, environmental performance, Health & Safety, industrial relations and administration Handle exigencies, escalate to GM - Operations if availability is affected Ensure continuous improvement of performance and cost reduction both fixed and variable Manage interactions with government officials, statutory authorities and other relevant external stakeholders Coordinate with HO Planning for both inbound and outbound operations Adopt 5S in Plant Ensure compliance of all statutory requirement and internal control systems Lead in sharing best practices with other group companies Promote and contribute positively to achieving companys Health & Safety aims and targets Lead people resources to ensure maximum productivity - Motivation, training and development of Plant team Evaluation of Competitor product performance quality, cost, packaging, etc. Qualification : Qualifications, including competencies, skill, knowledge: Preferred Education: BE / B.Tech in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering from a premier institute and MBA in Operations Management will be an added advantage Preferred Experience: 10-15 years Manufacturing Plant Operations in the area of Electrical Cables and Wires Computer Skills ERP and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) Other Skills: · Should have a good understanding of the Cable Plant operations – LT and Control Cables · Must have strong operations planning experience, high level of analytical and problem-solving skills. · Should have good experience in managing industrial relations / union management. · Should have good experience in managing internal and external stakeholders (regulatory government bodies, communities, law enforcement agencies, etc. · High level of initiative and assertiveness, Excellent team skills, Ability to work with a sense of urgency, effectively balancing multiple requests and tasks · Have a high level of written and oral communication skills. · Ability to work within a very diverse workplace and environment
