20 yearsJob Description : GM NIGERIA FOR PALM PLANTATAION - The General Manager's Job requires an agronomy expert with rich exposure in palm plantation, who will ensure efficient supervision of day-to-day activities and achieve overall performance of the plantation site. - To ensure effective allocation of resources to achieve maximum yield. The role leads complete operations for the assigned site, which includes but is not limited to - Daily Operational Activity, Plantation, Maintenance Planning of Resources, Financial Prudence, Inventory Planning, Logistics, Supply Chain, and other support functions to achieve efficient yield objectives. - To assess and plan for resources allocation and requirements for smooth plantation operations. To enforce all company policies and processes including safety, administration, production, quality, personnel etc. - To promote a positive culture that supports teamwork within the organization and a favorable image of the organization. Job Responsibilities : - Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team. - Duties include the following, measurable in terms of time, cost, quality or quantity. STRATEGIC RESPONSIBILITY - To assist leadership and board to achieve the vision of the organization and guide the team members with the development of short, mid & long-term plans. - To be responsible for developing, monitoring, measuring, and managing functional KPIs to ensure Performance and profitability objectives are met. - To develop a competent team of professionals across all functional areas by providing adequate training and guiding them to achieve organizational performance objectives. - To do CAPEX analysis, leading multiple projects from inception to commissioning and stabilization. - To prepare a weekly, monthly and quarterly operation plan to drive performance of all processes towards achievement. DAY TO DAY MANAGEMENT : 1. Operations Management: - To lead a team of supervisors, technicians, workers, and other relevant staff to achieve the weekly and monthly activity plan and maximize the daily outputs. - To solve day-to-day operations issues in coordination with cross-functional teams. - To monitor the effective resource planning, supply chain, and inventory management to achieve Minimum, Maximum, and Reorder levels maintained with the support of the team. - To guide, bring awareness and motivate team to keep compliance with up to date regulatory and other applicable standards. 2. Project Planning and Cost Control: - To plan, manage and control projects at the site and ensure progress within the stipulated time once approved. 3. Maintenance and Equipment Health: - To plan and execute preventive/condition-based maintenance schedules for fleet, machinery and utility equipment to increase uptime and reliability. - Identifying areas of obstruction or breakdowns and initiating improvement measures. 4. Efficiencies and Cost key drivers: - To guide the process team to evaluate and drive yields improvement and Productivity improvement Projects. - To drive resource conservation initiatives and Projects to achieve a reduction in resource consumption. Monitoring processing costs and driving cost reduction projects and Strategic Cost reduction measures. 5. Capability Development and Strategic Management: - To identify and evaluate development needs for the team and drive team developmental plans. - To evaluate Training need identification and impart training to the team members with support of HR Team LEADERSHIP - To create and maintain an atmosphere in which employees willingly produce at maximum capacity and to plan and provide an opportunity for employee advancement and development.
