Job Description : FINANCE DIRECTOR MALAYSIA As Finance Director based in Kuala Lumpur, you will play an integral role in shaping the future of a thriving retail business. Your expertise will be called upon daily as you guide the development of forward-thinking financial strategies that underpin every aspect of the organisation’s growth agenda. Develop and execute comprehensive financial strategies that align with organisational objectives and drive sustainable long-term growth. Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive team by providing insightful analysis to inform corporate planning, investment decisions, and market expansion initiatives. Deliver timely, accurate, and actionable financial insights to support both strategic direction and day-to-day operational decision-making across all business units. Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in strict accordance with international accounting standards such as IFRS or local GAAP. Ensure full compliance with tax regulations, legal requirements, and internal policies while managing effective relationships with external auditors and regulatory bodies. Identify potential financial risks proactively and develop robust mitigation strategies to safeguard company assets and reputation. Oversee the annual budgeting process in close collaboration with all departments to ensure alignment with overall business strategy and operational plans. What you bring: To excel as Finance Director in this prominent retail organisation based in Kuala Lumpur you will bring extensive experience gained from senior finance roles within similarly complex environments—ideally spanning multi-site operations or fast-moving consumer goods sectors. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related discipline is required; an MBA or Master’s degree is highly regarded for this position Professional accounting qualification such as CPA, CA, ACCA or CIMA is mandatory for consideration At least 10 years of progressive experience within finance or accounting roles—including no less than 5 years spent in senior leadership positions within retail or FMCG environments Demonstrated track record in financial control and reporting within multi-location or high-transaction businesses is essential for success Exceptional analytical skills enabling you to assess trends accurately while identifying risks or opportunities for improvement within complex organisations
