Head of Infrastructure and Network

Job Description : HEAD OF INFRASTRUCTURE AND NETWORK MILAN, ITALY Open to International candidates A leading retail organization based in Milan is offering a unique opportunity for an experienced IT professional to become the Head of Infrastructure and Network. This role is ideal for those who excel at managing both traditional and cloud-based infrastructure, particularly on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer, you will be responsible for driving the company's digital transformation, ensuring the integrity, security and scalability of infrastructure across all operational sites, including data centers and retail locations. What you will do: Oversee the continuous operation of on-premise, cloud and in-store infrastructures, ensuring service availability and security. Coordinate the activities of the network team at national and international level. Plan, maintain and update hardware, operating systems and communications protocols. Design and optimize cloud environments with a focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Formulate capacity planning strategies and size environments for current and future needs. Collaborate with quality assurance teams to establish testing requirements. Implement FinOps strategies to monitor and optimize costs. Manage relationships with technology partners and oversee maintenance contracts. Establish and monitor SLAs and KPIs for continuous service improvement. Support the design and implementation of new application infrastructures. What are you bringing: At least 15 years of experience managing complex IT infrastructures in the retail sector. Expertise in designing and managing traditional IT infrastructures and cloud solutions, especially on GCP. Experience leading operational teams and managing external partnerships. Ability to plan projects and use tools such as Jira or ServiceNow. Knowledge of network protocols and troubleshooting connectivity issues. Familiarity with retail processes and translating business needs into technical solutions. Knowledge of FinOps principles for cloud cost optimization. Expertise in ITSM frameworks for incident management.
