Job Description : Group Projects Director TANZANIA Group Projects Director for Leading Construction & EPC Contractor We are a long-established and expanding construction and engineering company with establishment in Tanzania and strategic ambition to grow further across the East African region. With a proven track record in successfully delivering complex projects across Industrial, Mining, Infrastructure, Oil & Gas, EPC, and Commercial sectors, we continue to build on our capabilities and portfolio. We seek to engage a Group Projects Director, a senior-level professional responsible for the overall management and delivery of all company projectsfrom bidding and contract negotiations through to commissioning and handover. This strategic role demands hands- on leadership to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. This is a pivotal leadership role that requires close coordination with project teams, clients, consultants, and subcontractors, to drive operational excellence and align execution with corporate goals. · Oversee and coordinate all ongoing and new projects across the organization · Lead tendering and bid preparation in collaboration with the commercial team · Establish and monitor project budgets, schedules, quality targets, and safety compliance · Drive the adoption of modern project management systems and digital tools · Facilitate collaboration between engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning units · Provide leadership and mentoring to project managers and site teams · Maintain transparent communication with clients, consultants, and stakeholders · Deliver regular executive-level reporting and strategic input to senior management · Degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s degree or professional certifications preferred) · Minimum 20 years of relevant experience, with at least 10 years in senior project leadership roles · Demonstrated ability to manage multiple large-scale civil and industrial projects from inception to completion · Proficiency in modern construction methodologies, planning tools (Primavera, MS Project), and risk management · Prior experience working in multicultural and/or emerging market environments (Africa preferred) · Strong strategic thinking, leadership, and interpersonal skills Reports to the Technical Director, who reports to the Managing Director Based at Head Office in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, with frequent travel to project sites across the country An attractive expatriate executive package will be offered to the selected candidate, including competitive salary, furnished accommodation, transport, medical cover, and annual home travel. Contract terms will be renewable long term and are negotiable based on the candidate’s profile and fit.
