Production Manager

Job Description : Production Manager Required Job Summary: We are launching a new product line for condensed and evaporated milk, along with in-house tin can production for 170g (evaporated milk) and 1kg (condensed milk) cans. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Manager – Dairy & Can, to oversee the complete operations of our new facility. The ideal candidate must have 5–8 years of experience in the production of evaporated and condensed milk, as well as tin can manufacturing and can filling processes. The selected individual will be responsible for managing all aspects of factory production including production planning, quality control, process optimization, maintenance coordination, and team leadership. Key Responsibilities: ?Lead and manage the end-to-end production of evaporated and condensed milk, ensuring product quality, hygiene, and safety standards. ?Oversee tin can manufacturing operations, including body forming, seaming, and lid production for both 170g and 1kg cans. ?Supervise can filling and seaming processes, ensuring efficient and accurate filling of products. ?Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for both milk processing and can production. ?Coordinate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure the availability of raw materials, packaging materials, and utilities. ?Monitor production output and optimize production efficiency while minimizing waste and downtime. ?Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards. ?Lead and train factory staff, develop work schedules, and assess workforce performance. ?Work closely with maintenance teams to ensure the smooth functioning of all equipment including sterilization/retort machines. ?Generate reports and provide regular updates on production performance and efficiency to senior management. Requirements: ?Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. ?Minimum 15–18 years of experience in dairy processing (evaporated & condensed milk) and can manufacturing/filling. ?Strong knowledge of milk production, seaming machines, and tin can production lines. ?Proven ability to lead factory operations with a hands-on and result-oriented approach. ?Strong communication and leadership skills. ?Proficiency in production, software, reporting tools, and factory management systems. Preferred: Familiarity with international dairy and packaging standards. Note: This position is based in West Africa; proficiency in English is essential, while knowledge of French will be considered an advantage.
