Job Description : Chief Business Officer (CBO) – Injectable Business Development (Global Markets) Location: Hyderabad, India Reporting To: Managing Director / CEO Industry: Pharmaceuticals – Injectable Formulations Role Overview The Chief Business Officer (CBO) will be responsible for leading and expanding the company’s global injectable business, with a strong focus on regulated markets such as the USA, Europe, and other developed geographies. The role requires strong strategic vision, deep market understanding, robust client relationships, and the ability to drive sustainable growth through partnerships, licensing, and new market entry. Key Responsibilities Business Strategy & Leadership Develop and execute short-term and long-term business development strategies for the global injectable portfolio. Identify new markets, opportunities, and growth areas aligned with company goals. Collaborate with R&D, Regulatory, and Manufacturing teams to align the product pipeline with market demands. Market Expansion & Client Management Build and maintain strong relationships with global pharmaceutical companies, CMOs, partners, and clients. Drive licensing, contract manufacturing, out-licensing, and co-marketing opportunities. Lead negotiations for large deals, supply agreements, and strategic alliances. Revenue Growth Achieve revenue and profitability targets for the injectable business in regulated markets. Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to adapt strategy as needed. Regulatory & Compliance Ensure all business development activities comply with global regulatory standards (USFDA, EMA, MHRA, etc.). Support regulatory submissions and approvals from a commercial perspective. Team Leadership Lead and mentor a high-performing global business development team. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and performance excellence. Stakeholder Management Represent the organization at international forums, conferences, and industry events. Provide regular updates to the Board and Executive Leadership Team on progress and market developments. Key Requirements Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or Business Management; MBA preferred. Experience: 18–25 years of progressive experience in injectable business development with a focus on regulated markets. Proven track record of large deal closures and strategic partnerships in the USA, Europe, and other regulated markets. In-depth understanding of global pharmaceutical regulations, injectable dosage forms, supply chain, and market dynamics. Excellent leadership, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Willingness to travel internationally as required. Compensation Attractive CTC with performance-based incentives.
