Job Description : Project Director – Water & Desalination | Canberra ???? We’re seeking a senior project leader with proven experience in water treatment and desalination to lead major programs of work across the Canberra region. From early-phase studies to full-scale delivery, this is a rare opportunity to shape critical infrastructure projects that directly support water security and sustainability goals — all within a dynamic, execution-focused team that works across the full project lifecycle. This is an initial 12-month contract opportunity in Canberra, supporting multidisciplinary delivery across Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCM) models. ???? In this role, you’ll help public and private sector clients design and deliver the infrastructure needed to treat, recycle, and sustainably manage water at scale. ???? What You’ll Do: -Lead major water infrastructure projects, particularly in treatment plants and desalination facilities -Deliver programs under EPCM, IPMT, and CMS models, ensuring best practice from strategy to execution -Drive business development, leveraging your water sector expertise to identify new opportunities -Lead multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with alliance and joint venture partners -Guide projects through all phases — studies, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning -Maintain project compliance, risk management, and high safety standards across all touchpoints ???? What You’ll Bring: -Close to 20 years’ experience in project delivery, with a strong focus on water treatment, desalination, and related infrastructure -Demonstrated leadership of large-scale EPCM projects -Experience forming and managing joint ventures, alliances, or integrated delivery teams -Strong background in the water sector -Commercial acumen and a track record in winning and delivering complex projects -Degree in engineering, construction, or related technical discipline ????
