Job Description : HEAD DRI PLANT NIGERIA 20+ years experience ob Purpose- To lead the mechanical maintenance function of the steel plant, ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of all mechanical assets across various units. The role requires strategic planning, preventive and predictive maintenance, manpower management, cost control, and adherence to safety and compliance standards. Key Responsibilities: Maintenance Strategy & Planning Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance schedules for plant machinery and equipment. Plan shutdown maintenance with minimal downtime. Introduce condition monitoring techniques to improve equipment reliability. Team Leadership Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers, supervisors, and technicians. Ensure skill development and training of the mechanical team. Operations Support Provide technical support to operations teams to maximize uptime and equipment efficiency. Coordinate closely with production and electrical/instrumentation teams for seamless functioning. Cost Management Monitor and control maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and resource utilization. Drive initiatives for cost reduction, energy conservation, and optimization. Project Management Support or lead mechanical aspects of new installations, modifications, and capital projects. Liaise with OEMs and contractors for timely and quality execution. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and statutory compliance. Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis for equipment failures. Documentation & Reporting Maintain records of maintenance activities, equipment history, downtime analysis, and KPIs. Present reports to senior management on asset performance and improvement plans.
