Business Head

Job Description : BUSINESS HEAD AFRICA FOR AGRI COMMODITIES Reporting to : Chief Executive Officer Location : Africa (Location open) Primary Responsibilities (Including but not limited to) : - Set up a green field business in African region for Agri Commodities i.e. Soya, Sesame, oilseeds - He/She will be expected to liaison with Government/ Local Authorities/Regulatory bodies to secure required permissions/ certificates/licences to set up the business and run it in a profitable manner - The candidate will be responsible for end to cycle i.e. effective sourcing, processing, exporting, importing commodities like Pulses, Oilseeds, Soya, Sesame, Flax seeds etc. wherever applicable - Assess and appoint Trade Partners/Sourcing Channels across the region - Responsible for the profitability and growth of the business in the timely manner - Formulate and implement-sourcing strategies, vendor development, negotiating terms of trade, building strong network & relationship management - Manage International Trade, Logistics operations, pre shipment / post shipment documentation, will handle exports to US & European countries - Responsible for the total value chain of the business with more customer focus and ensuring effective implementation of Business Plan at SBU level - Develop strategic plan to advance the SBU's mission and objectives and to promote revenue, profitability & growth and implement it effectively - Ensure appropriate systems and processes are in place for monitoring performance against plans and budgets - Engage with key business stakeholders on a regular basis to understand their needs, involve them in joint planning and drive overall high stakeholder satisfaction with business performance Eligibility : - BTech / MSc Agri / MBA from a good University with a minimum 15 years work experience - Worked in Africa with an Agri-commodity business preferably Sesame/Soya/Pulses/Oilseeds and have hands on knowledge of relevant regulations, currency and public policy as it impacts an agriculture based business - Experience in strategic planning and execution. Considerable knowledge of business theory, business processes, management, budgeting and business operations - Excellent knowledge of Multiple African Countries /Region, should have handled exports to US & European countries. - Experience in dealing with Organic commodities/ Organic Certification will be an added advantage
