Job Description : Category Manager – Supermarket, FMCG, Lifestyle & General Merchandising (Expatriate) Location: Lagos, Nigeria Department: Supply Chain Management We are looking for a Category Manager ready to lead one of Nigeria’s most exciting retail portfolios. We are looking for a commercially savvy and results-driven professional to take charge of category performance across Supermarket, General Merchandising, FMCG, Apparels & Lifestyle, and Furnishing. Responsibilities · Develop and execute buying and business plans for each category and subcategory. · Align category objectives with broader organizational strategies. · Optimize space utilization in stores for maximum return on space and investment. · Support new store development with effective category planning and planograms. · Ensure product availability across stores based on demand and store formats. · Implement robust inventory control, ageing analysis, and stock replenishment. · Introduce new products based on consumer demand, store format, and margin improvement. · Deliver on annual sales, margin, and backend targets. · Plan and implement consumer promotions and activations. · Analyze category performance regularly to ensure target achievements. · Drive private label strategies and prevent loss to maximize profitability. · Identify and onboard vendors with favorable pricing, fill rates, and lead times. · Manage vendor relationships and ensure timely payments. · Build and lead a results-oriented team. · Coordinate category strategies with cross-functional teams. · Identify training needs and ensure performance evaluations are in place.
