As COO, you will be at the heart of driving operational excellence, building efficient processes, and fostering a culture that values adaptability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The organisation is committed to supporting your professional growth while providing an inclusive environment where diverse perspectives are celebrated. If you are passionate about making a tangible impact and thrive in environments that embrace change, this role provides the perfect platform for you to excel. Play a pivotal role in shaping operational strategy and driving business growth within a leading IT organisation known for its entrepreneurial approach and commitment to innovation. Enjoy the autonomy to build and refine processes from the ground up, working closely with senior leaders to create efficiencies and foster a collaborative, high-performing culture. Benefit from flexible working opportunities and a supportive leadership team dedicated to nurturing talent, encouraging knowledge sharing, and championing diversity across all levels of the business. What you'll do: As Chief Operating Officer Information Technology based in Kuala Lumpur, you will play an instrumental role in shaping the company's future by developing strategies that drive operational excellence across all departments. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve collaborating with senior leaders to introduce structure where needed while maintaining the agility required in an entrepreneurial setting. You will be empowered to identify areas for process improvement, implement innovative solutions that boost productivity, and ensure financial discipline through close partnership with finance leaders. By building strong teams and nurturing a culture of collaboration and adaptability, you will help create an environment where everyone can thrive. Your ability to navigate complex commercial landscapes while ensuring compliance will be crucial as you support both ongoing operations and ambitious growth plans. Success in this role means not only delivering on immediate operational goals but also contributing meaningfully to long-term strategic development. Develop and implement adaptable operational strategies that align with evolving organisational objectives and support long-term success. Collaborate closely with department heads including General Managers and Senior Managers to bring structure, strategic focus, and clarity to all aspects of operations. Identify opportunities for process innovation by introducing new solutions that streamline workflows, enhance productivity, and drive efficiency throughout the business. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging creative problem-solving and adaptability among teams at every level. Partner with the Chief Financial Officer to manage budgets effectively, forecast financial performance accurately, and ensure robust financial management practices are in place. Navigate complex commercial agreements with confidence while maintaining compliance with all relevant legal standards and regulatory requirements. Build, mentor, and lead high-performing teams by creating an environment that values independence, accountability, collaboration, and open communication. Champion organisational change initiatives by promoting a culture that embraces transformation, encourages knowledge sharing, and values diverse perspectives. Actively contribute insights to strategic planning processes by leveraging operational expertise to inform key business decisions and future direction. Support business development efforts by using operational insights to identify new opportunities for growth and help achieve organisational goals. What you bring: To excel as Chief Operating Officer Information Technology, you will bring significant experience from senior operational roles within the IT sector—ideally gained in fast-evolving or less structured organisations where adaptability is key. Your background should include hands-on involvement in designing or refining processes that have delivered tangible results for previous employers. In addition to technical expertise around legal compliance, commercial negotiations, and financial stewardship, your interpersonal strengths will set you apart: you are someone who builds trust quickly across teams through clear communication and empathetic engagement. Your approach is grounded in collaboration—you understand how to unite people behind common goals while respecting individual contributions. A passion for continuous learning ensures you remain responsive to emerging trends or challenges facing the industry. Above all else, your commitment to nurturing talent within inclusive environments makes you an invaluable asset as both a leader and partner on the executive team. Extensive experience in operational leadership roles within the IT industry, particularly within organisations characterised by less structured or rapidly evolving environments. Deep understanding of legal frameworks as well as commercial and financial operations relevant to technology-driven businesses. Proven track record of innovating processes and driving improvements that result in measurable gains in efficiency or productivity within dynamic settings. Exceptional leadership abilities demonstrated through building high-performing teams that value collaboration, accountability, and shared success. Outstanding communication skills combined with strong interpersonal abilities that enable effective engagement with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation. A proactive mindset marked by entrepreneurial thinking coupled with a genuine appetite for embracing change and supporting organisational transformation initiatives. Experience negotiating complex commercial agreements while ensuring full compliance with applicable laws and regulations is essential for this role. Demonstrated ability to contribute valuable insights during strategic planning sessions that inform key business decisions or future direction. Commitment to fostering inclusive environments where diverse perspectives are welcomed and knowledge sharing is encouraged.
