Power Plant Manager

Job Description : POWER PLANT MANAGER RWANDA independent power producer operating a strategic asset in East Africa. The plant plays a central role in regional electrification efforts and requires strong technical leadership to ensure sustainable performance. Job Description Reporting to the Country General Manager, you will oversee all site activities and ensure the optimal, secure, and continuous operation of a large-capacity power plant. In this role, you will: Lead day-to-day operations to ensure reliable, safe and efficient power generation. Define and implement the maintenance strategy, including scheduled shutdowns and critical interventions. Manage multidisciplinary teams, establishing a culture of accountability, technical excellence and continuous improvement. Monitor and analyze performance indicators, provide reporting to the group and identify areas for optimization. Contribute to medium and long-term planning to strengthen the reliability, sustainability and cost control of the plant. The Successful Applicant As a mechanical or electrical engineer, you have proven experience in power generation or complex industrial operations. With 12+ years of experience, including at least 3 years in an operational management position, you understand the requirements of power plant operation. You are comfortable working in isolated or demanding environments and adopt a structured and pragmatic approach to management. Fluency in English is essential.
