Job Description : Senior Mining Manager Location: Lagos, Nigeria/Site Locations Experience:- 15+ years Job Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Corporate Mining Manager with over 12 years of experience in mining operations, optimization, and technology-driven solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in geological data interpretation, resource modelling, and the application of cutting-edge mining technologies to improve operational efficiency, safety, and sustainability. This position will be responsible for leading and overseeing the execution of corporate mining strategies, managing multi-site projects, and ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards. Key Responsibilities: · Mining Operations Optimization: Oversee the optimization of mining operations by leveraging advanced geological modelling techniques, mine design, and resource extraction methodologies. Apply best practices in blasting, drilling, and excavation to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs. · Geological Data Management: Manage and interpret geological data, including core logging, geophysical surveys, and resource estimation. Utilize software like Surpac, Vulcan, or Leapfrog for resource modelling and geological analysis. · Mine Planning & Design: Develop and implement long-term mine plans and designs. · Production Management: Supervise the mining production process, ensuring that the mines operational output meets pre-set targets while adhering to schedule. · Automation & Technology Integration: Lead the integration of autonomous systems, remote operation technologies, and Internet of Things (IoT) devices to enhance productivity, safety, and cost-efficiency in the mining operations. · Drilling & Blasting Techniques: Review and optimize drilling and blasting techniques, focusing on blast design software and implementation of safe and efficient blasting operations. Work closely with engineers to ensure compliance with geotechnical guidelines. · Ventilation & Ground Control: Oversee the implementation of mine ventilation and ground control strategies, ensuring safe and efficient airflow, and assessing geotechnical stability using geotechnical modelling software. · Mining Equipment Management: Oversee the procurement, utilization, and maintenance of mining equipment. Analyze equipment performance data using Predictive Maintenance Software to increase equipment uptime and reduce downtime. · Data-Driven Decision Making: Lead the utilization of mining data analytics to make informed decisions on process improvements, cost reduction, and safety enhancements. Utilize Big Data analytics and machine learning algorithms to improve operational outcomes. · Sustainability & Environmental Stewardship: Ensure mining operations align with environmental regulations and sustainability goals. Utilize environmental modeling tools to predict and mitigate the impact of mining activities on local ecosystems. Implement best practices in water management, waste disposal, and land rehabilitation. Key Qualifications & Skills: · Education: Bachelors degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or a related field. Master’s degree in Mining or Geotechnical Engineering preferred.
