Job Description : HEAD OF TAX AUSTRALIA As Head of Tax, you will take ownership of both advisory and compliance functions within an internationally focused environment. Your day-to-day activities will involve providing strategic direction on cross-border taxation issues, ensuring all reporting obligations are met efficiently, and fostering strong connections with stakeholders at every level. You will be instrumental in developing policies that uphold rigorous standards while supporting broader business goals. By staying abreast of evolving regulations, you will help safeguard organisational interests and contribute to ongoing process enhancements. Manage relationships with key stakeholders across finance, legal, and executive leadership to ensure clear communication of tax strategies and implications. Lead the development and implementation of robust tax policies and procedures that promote transparency and compliance throughout the organisation. Monitor changes in global tax regulations, proactively assessing their impact on business operations and advising accordingly. Support audit processes by preparing relevant documentation and responding to queries from auditors or regulatory bodies as required. Identify opportunities for process improvement within the tax function, driving efficiencies while maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance. Proven track record managing both direct and indirect tax compliance processes with meticulous attention to detail. Exceptional stakeholder management skills, enabling you to build trust-based relationships across diverse teams including finance, legal, and executive leadership. Strong understanding of Australian taxation laws as well as exposure to global regulatory frameworks affecting multinational organisations. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, allowing you to convey complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Demonstrated ability to develop practical solutions for intricate tax challenges while maintaining compliance with all relevant legislation. Experience supporting audit processes by preparing detailed documentation and liaising effectively with auditors or regulatory authorities. A collaborative approach that fosters teamwork within the department as well as across wider business units.
