Plant Operation Manager

Job Description : Plant Operation Manager (Metal and Mining)at Central Africa. Education: BE Mechanical Experience: 15- 20 Years experience in (Copper OR Cobalt) Job Responsibilities: 1.Overall Plant Operations Manage the end-to-end operations of the mining site, crushing units, HEMM fleet. • Ensure optimal coordination between different departments for uninterrupted production. • Monitor day-to-day operations to ensure maximum efficiency and safety 2Mining & Geology Oversight • Supervise exploration, geological surveys, and ore body assessments. • Implement short-term and long-term mine planning based on geological data. • Ensure optimal utilization of mineral resources with minimal environmental impact. • Conducts site surveys and performs research and analyses on mines; collects survey data to evaluate and prepare Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E) for various project improvements Crushing Plant Management • Oversee operations of crushers, screens, and conveyors to ensure consistent material flow. • Optimize crushing parameters for desired output quality and quantity. • Monitor wear and tear and plan timely maintenance to reduce breakdowns. 4. HEMM (Heavy Earth Moving Machinery) Operations • Ensure availability and productivity of HEMM equipment (excavators, dumpers, loaders, dozers, etc.). • Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance schedules with maintenance teams. • Track equipment utilization, fuel consumption, and operating efficiency. • Ensure operator training and compliance with machine handling protocols. 6. Production Planning & Control • Prepare and implement daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules. • Track actual vs. planned production and take corrective actions as needed. • Aligning production with project deadlines and supply chain requirements. 7. Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Compliance • Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols for all machinery and personnel. • Conduct regular safety drills and toolbox talks. • Ensure environmental compliance, including dust control, water management, and waste disposal. 8. Maintenance Coordination • Implement a preventive maintenance system across all units: mining, crushing, and HEMM. • Reduce downtime through proactive inspections and timely interventions. • Maintain maintenance logs and equipment history for audit purposes. 9. Resource & Inventory Management • Maintain adequate stock of spare parts, consumables, fuel, and raw materials. • Liaise with procurement for timely replenishment. • Reduce wastage and improve material handling efficiency.
