Technical Head

Job Description : MEP Technical Lead in East Africa. Qualification: B. Tech (Mechanical) Experience : Minimum 10 years of experience in plumbing design, site coordination, and technical leadership for medium to large-scale building and infrastructure projects. Proficient in Revit (BIM); additional tools like AutoCAD, hydraulic simulation software, or Pipe Flow would be an advantage Position Objective: The incumbent will be responsible to ensure high-quality plumbing design, technical compliance, and proactive site support, while mentoring a growing team of junior engineers Role & responsibilities · Lead plumbing design across all building and infrastructure scopes (including STPs, pumping stations, and external services). · Review, validate, and approve plumbing layouts and schematic diagrams prepared in Revit (BIM). · Ensure compliance with local codes, international standards, and consultant requirements. · Coordinate with internal MEP, structural, architectural, and civil teams to ensure clash-free integration. · Initiate and define plumbing material requirements, particularly for imported items. · Vet supplier submittals, datasheets, and technical specs for compliance and value engineering. · Drive the approvals process with consultants and clients to ensure timely procurement and delivery. · Conduct regular site visits and resolve technical queries during execution. · Ensure installed works align with design intent and quality standards. · Support testing, commissioning, and snag-free handover of plumbing systems. · Collaborate closely with internal departments such as Design, Procurement, QA/QC, and Project Management to resolve technical issues swiftly. · Represent the plumbing function in consultant, client, and coordination meetings. · Provide timely input during planning, execution, and value engineering exercises.
