20 yearsJob Description : PROJECT HEAD BOTSWANA FOR 4 x175 EPC THERMAL POWER PLANT Role & responsibilities 1. Project Leadership & Management Lead end-to-end execution of the thermal power plant project in line with EPC contract terms. Develop detailed project execution plans, schedules, and budgets; ensure adherence to milestones. Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and O&M teams for seamless execution. Drive project progress reviews and risk mitigation strategies. 2. EPC Contract Management Interpret and manage EPC contract scope, timelines, deliverables, and obligations. Oversee vendor and subcontractor management, ensuring contractual compliance and timely delivery. Negotiate with EPC partners, suppliers, and service providers to optimize cost and quality. 3. Technical Oversight Provide technical direction to design and engineering teams to ensure plant performance parameters meet design guarantees. Review and approve engineering deliverables across civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, C&I, and BOP packages. Ensure integration of all systems (BTG, BOP, CHP, AHP, FGD, water systems, etc.) in compliance with project specifications. 4. Cost, Time, and Quality Control Monitor project expenditures against budget and implement cost-control measures. Maintain strict adherence to project timelines; escalate delays with mitigation action plans. Enforce quality standards in construction, erection, and commissioning activities. 5. Regulatory & Safety Compliance Ensure statutory and environmental clearances are obtained and maintained. Promote a strong safety culture; oversee implementation of EHS plans at site. Liaise with government bodies, consultants, and auditors as required. 6. Stakeholder Communication Maintain transparent communication with senior management, project owners, EPC contractors, and lenders. Prepare and present regular progress reports, dashboards, and performance reviews. Address and resolve disputes or claims with stakeholders. 7. Team Leadership & Development Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performance project management team. Allocate responsibilities, monitor performance, and provide timely feedback. Build cross-functional synergy across departments and external partners. Qualifications & Experience Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Civil / Power Engineering. Masters degree in Project Management / MBA preferred. Experience: Minimum 20+ years in power plant project execution, with at least 8 years in a leadership role managing EPC projects of 500 MW+ capacity (preferably in coal-based thermal plants). Proven track record in delivering large-scale power projects within budget and timelines. Strong knowledge of BTG, BOP, CHP, AHP, FGD, water systems, and auxiliary plant systems. In-depth understanding of EPC contracts, commercial terms, and risk management.
