Job Description : BEVERAGE PLANT HEAD DRC The Plant Head will lead the end-to-end manufacturing operations of the beverages plant, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective production of multiple beverage categories including water, beer, juices (in tetra packs and cans), milk, and alcoholic drinks. The role requires deep technical expertise in high-speed bottling and packaging lines (KHS, KRONES, SIG) and strong leadership skills to drive operational excellence, quality, and continuous improvement in a multicultural environment. 1. Production & Operations Management · Oversee daily plant operations ensuring achievement of production targets across all lines (KHS, KRONES, SIG). · Plan, organize, and optimize production schedules to meet demand while minimizing downtime. · Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP standards. · Coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) targets. 2. Technical & Process Excellence · Monitor and optimize performance of high-speed filling and packaging lines for water, beer, juices, milk, and alcoholic beverages. · Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions. · Drive preventive and predictive maintenance schedules in coordination with Engineering. · Oversee technology upgrades, line installations, and capacity expansion projects. 3. Quality & Compliance · Ensure products meet company quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications. · Work closely with the QA team to maintain ISO, HACCP, and FSSC 22000 certifications. · Implement robust traceability systems for raw materials and finished products. 4. People Leadership · Lead, coach, and develop a diverse workforce including local and expatriate staff. · Build strong team culture focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement. · Ensure training and skill development for line operators, technicians, and supervisors. 5. Health, Safety & Environment · Promote and enforce workplace safety policies in compliance with local laws and corporate standards. · Oversee environmental sustainability initiatives such as water usage reduction, waste management, and energy efficiency. 6. Budget & Cost Control · Manage plant budget, control operational costs, and drive cost-saving initiatives. · Monitor and optimize raw material usage, packaging materials, and energy consumption. 7. Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration · Work closely with Supply Chain, Procurement, QA, Engineering, and Sales to ensure smooth production and supply continuity. · Liaise with government agencies and regulatory bodies as required. Preferred candidate profile Qualifications: · Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering; · Strong understanding of GMP, HACCP, ISO 9001, ISO 22000, and FSSC 22000 standards. · Familiarity with African business and labor environments is an advantage. Experience · 15+ years of progressive manufacturing experience in beverages, with at least 5 years in a senior plant leadership role.
