15 yearsJob Description : CFO NIGERIA ONLY CANDIDATE FROM MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY SHOUD APPLY Job Summary The Chief Finance Officer(CFO) will lead and manage the organization’s finance function, providing strategic guidance and critical insights to support both current operations and future growth. This role ensures robust financial planning, compliance, risk management, and overall financial health of the organization. Key Responsibilities 1. Financial Strategy & Leadership Develop and execute financial strategies that align with the company’s goals and drive sustainable growth. Offer strategic insights and recommendations to optimize financial performance and long-term value. Serve as a key advisor to the CEO and Executive Management on financial matters. 2. Budgeting & Forecasting Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with Business Heads, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with strategic priorities. Conduct monthly and quarterly budget vs. actual reviews, highlighting variances and risks for management attention. 3. Financial Reporting & Compliance Oversee timely and accurate preparation of monthly financial reports across all business units. Consolidate financial results and present meaningful insights into business trends and performance. Ensure full compliance with statutory, regulatory, and internal financial policies. 4. Business Partnering & Financial Advisory Collaborate with Business Heads to provide financial advice on growth strategies, working capital management, and profitability. Lead periodic inventory and debtor reviews, identifying risks and proposing corrective measures. Evaluate capital expenditure, ROI, and expansion plans. 5. Cash Flow & Treasury Management Prepare and monitor monthly cash flow projections, identifying shortfalls and advising relevant stakeholders. Develop cash management strategies to meet operational and financial obligations efficiently. 6. Factory Finance Oversight Oversee financial operations of the factory including procurement, inventory, cost control, and waste management. Ensure effective cost accounting of raw materials, consumables, and finished goods. 7. Expense Management & Internal Controls Review and enhance expense control procedures across the business. Approve major expenditures in line with delegated authority. Strengthen expense tracking systems and implement robust authorization protocols. Implement controls for administrative expenses including diesel, consumables, transport, and IT. 8. Risk Management Design and implement a comprehensive risk management framework. Evaluate the financial and operational risks associated with new business ventures and advise accordingly. Ensure all expansion plans are vetted for profitability and risk exposure. 9. Internal Audit & Control Systems Establish and enforce strong internal controls and audit procedures. Ensure periodic (monthly/quarterly) reviews of procurement, inventory, and facility expenses. Identify cost optimization opportunities and plug financial leakages. 10. Vendor & Regulatory Compliance Oversee accurate reconciliation of both local and international vendor accounts. Maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, regulatory authorities, and financial institutions. 11. Team Leadership & Development Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing finance team. Set performance goals, monitor progress, and provide regular feedback. Identify and nurture future finance leaders, ensuring robust succession planning. Recommend and implement finance-related ERP/software to improve team efficiency. Key Competencies and Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with sound business judgment. Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities. Effective communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. In-depth knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, accounting, and reporting. Strong understanding of the Nigerian business environment, particularly the manufacturing sector. Familiarity with internal controls, risk management, and regulatory frameworks. Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA is required. MBA or Master’s degree in Finance is an added advantage. Minimum of 15 years post-qualification experience, with at least 5 years in an executive finance leadership role. Proven track record as a Finance Business Partner in a manufacturing environment.
