Engineering Head

Job Description : Lead Engineering- Combined Cycle Power Plant. Location: Nigeria, Lagos Employment Type: Full Time About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Lead Engineering to handle the engineering activities for our large-scale Gas Based Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP) project. The role involves managing multidisciplinary engineering teams, ensuring design quality, optimizing plant performance, and coordinating with EPC contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to deliver the project on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities: · Lead all engineering functions from concept design to commissioning. · Oversee preparation, review, and approval of technical documents, drawings, and specifications. · Provide timely and effective engineering judgments and decisions. · Basic engineering, detail engineering, interface engineering etc. of the project consist of selection of plant equipment Parameters, Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) / SLDs/ Schemes / Flow Diagrams, Layouts and Plot Plan, design memorandum / concept notes, technical specification for procurement, Review of techno-commercial offers, technical Recommendation. · Technical assistance to LOI / purchase order, Review Engineering of supplier generated documents / Contractors / Vendors / Suppliers’ submittals which includes Drawings / Documents / Data sheets / Quality Assurance Plans / Field quality plans / PQR & WPS, Invoicing & Billing Break Ups preparation & approval. · Ensure Engineering compliance with international power industry standards. · Coordinate with EPC contractors, OEMs, consultants, and regulatory bodies. · Optimize plant configuration, cycle design, and equipment selection. · Support procurement team through technical evaluations and vendor selection. · Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and performance testing. · Monitor and report engineering progress, risks, and mitigation plans, Expedite Engineering Activities. · Negotiate with engineering consultants and equipment suppliers to address and resolve additional cost implications. Qualifications: · Bachelor’s degree in mechanical / electrical engineering. · PMP certification is desirable and will be considered an added advantage. · 18-22 years’ experience in power generation, including at least 10-15 years in engineering management. · Proven record in delivering large-scale (>500 MW) Gas Based Combined Cycle Power Plant Projects · Strong knowledge of EPC project environments and international codes/standards. · Broad technical knowledge across Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation & Control (I&C), and Civil domains. · Experience in engineering management/ managerial positions within reputed ENGINEERING CONSULTANCY firms. Skills: · Strong leadership and team management abilities. · Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills. · Commercial awareness with project cost control experience. · Strong communication skills and ability to work in multicultural environments.
