10 yearsJob Description : GM MINING HARARE ZIMBABWE The General Manager will provide overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational management of the mining operations. The role is responsible for ensuring that the mine achieves its production, safety, sustainability, and financial objectives. This position requires a seasoned leader with extensive experience in the mining industry, strong business acumen, and a proven ability to deliver results in complex and challenging environments. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement long-term strategies to maximise operational efficiency, profitability, and sustainable growth. Operational Excellence: Oversee day-to-day mining operations, ensuring adherence to production targets, cost control, and quality standards. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE): Champion a culture of safety and compliance, ensuring operations meet all regulatory requirements and environmental standards. Financial Management: Manage budgets, cost structures, and financial reporting to achieve optimal returns on investment. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, local communities, regulatory authorities, and suppliers. Talent Development: Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing management team and workforce, ensuring succession planning and skills transfer. Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimisation, adoption of new technologies, and sustainable mining practices. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Metallurgy, or related field (Master’s in Business Administration or similar qualification an advantage). Minimum of 10–15 years’ progressive leadership experience in the mining sector, with at least 5 years in a senior management capacity. Strong knowledge of mining operations, mine planning, and project development. Demonstrated track record of delivering operational and financial results. Sound understanding of mining legislation, compliance, and HSE standards. Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
