8 yearsJob Description : PP WOVEN SACKS PRODUCTION MANAGER UGANDA Leading manufacturer of Printed / Non Printed PP woven sacks supplied to leading companies in industrial and agriculture sectors Job Profile: Role The Production Manager will be responsible for managing and optimizing production of PP woven sacks, ensuring adherence to quality standards, driving operational efficiency, managing preventive & breakdown maintenance, and leading a diverse workforce. The role requires strong technical expertise in Tapeline, Looms, Printing, and Masterbatch mixing, with the ability to scale up production towards 400–500 MT per month. Key Responsibilities Production Management Plan and execute production of tapes, woven fabric, and finished sacks in line with monthly/annual targets. Set up and optimize Tapeline dies to minimize denier variation and achieve consistent product quality. Manage extrusion, weaving, printing, bag conversion, and finishing operations effectively. Control masterbatch mixing to achieve accurate tape shades and consistent output. Machine & Process Expertise Operate and maintain advanced PP woven sack machinery including: Lohia Tape Extrusion Line – Lorex E120B.1600HS with imported die, melt pump, 04CDMU & X-ray gauge. Lohia Tape Winder – LFW 200 CE. Lohia Circular Looms – Nova 6-576 & Nova 6-720. Starlinger Printing machine and Pelican manual printers. Drive efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize machine utilization. Monitor and maintain all quality parameters across processes. Maintenance & Reliability Lead preventive and breakdown maintenance activities in coordination with the maintenance team. Ensure minimal downtime and maximum output through effective planning. Manpower Management Lead, train, and manage a workforce of 180+ employees Build team capability across production, quality, and maintenance functions. Enforce discipline, safety, and adherence to company standards on the shop floor. Quality Assurance Ensure strict compliance with quality norms for corporate and agricultural-grade sacks. Maintain customer specifications for tensile strength, weight, denier, printing accuracy, and finishing. Lead root-cause analysis and corrective measures for quality deviations. Reporting & Coordination Prepare and maintain production reports, wastage data, and efficiency dashboards. Coordinate with sales, logistics, procurement, and quality teams to align production with customer commitments Desired Profile: Education: Graduate in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Diploma in Engineering. Experience: 8–10 years in PP woven sack manufacturing with direct experience in extrusion, weaving, printing, and finishing. Proven ability to manage 400–500 tons/month production. Hands-on expertise in handling Lohia and Starlinger machines. Strong background in preventive & breakdown maintenance. Prior African experience will be a strong advantage. Communication: Fluent in written and spoken English (mandatory) – candidate must be able to communicate effectively with internal teams, OEMs, and vendors. Other Requirements: Age between 35–45 years. Ability to work in shifts. Availability to join within 30-45 days.
