Job Description : Head of Engineering (EPC – Water Business) Key Responsibilities 1. Engineering Leadership & Strategy Provide strategic direction and leadership for all engineering activities in the EPC Water Business. Define engineering standards, methodologies, and design practices in alignment with international codes and regulations. Drive innovation and adoption of advanced technologies (e.g., digital twins, modular design, energy-efficient processes). 2. Project Engineering & Execution Lead the engineering design and review process across all project phases – feasibility, FEED, detailed engineering, and construction support. Ensure engineering deliverables meet technical, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with project management, procurement, and construction teams to ensure seamless EPC execution. Manage subcontractors, consultants, and third-party engineering partners. 3. Technical Expertise – Water Sector Provide subject matter expertise in water and wastewater treatment technologies (e.g., RO desalination, membrane systems, biological treatment, sludge management). Ensure optimal technology selection for projects balancing CAPEX, OPEX, and sustainability. Guide troubleshooting, design optimization, and technical issue resolution during execution and operation. 4. Quality, Safety & Compliance Ensure engineering compliance with HSE, quality standards, and statutory regulations. Champion risk assessment, HAZOP, constructability reviews, and value engineering. Drive reliability, operability, and maintainability in plant designs. 5. People & Organization Leadership Build and lead a multidisciplinary engineering team (civil, mechanical, process, electrical, instrumentation). Mentor and develop engineering talent, fostering technical excellence and leadership pipeline. Establish a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. 6. Stakeholder Management Interface with clients, consultants, JV partners, and government authorities for technical discussions and approvals. Support business development by providing technical inputs for proposals, tenders, and bids. Represent the company in technical forums, industry associations, and client presentations. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering (Master’s preferred). 18–25+ years of engineering experience in EPC/Infrastructure, with strong focus on water and wastewater projects. Proven track record in leading large multidisciplinary engineering teams on major EPC water projects. Strong knowledge of international design codes, environmental regulations, and water sector standards. Experience in desalination, large treatment plants, and distribution network engineering.
