Senior HSE Advisor

Job Description : SENIOR HSE ADVISOR MALAYSAI Company develops products and services for use throughout the lifecycle of an offshore oilfield, from drilling to decommissioning including operating the world's premier fleet of work class ROVs. Position Summary The Senior Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Advisor must be an effective leader and support their specific region/business unit with guidance and information to: 1) Identify, understand, and mitigate HSE-related risks and 2) Help develop a workforce that operates in a safe and environmentally responsible manor at all time. This position shall also educate, mentor and develop direct reports. Functions ESSENTIAL Duties & Responsibilities Assists leadership and division managers in ensuring that the workplace is safe and that all employees return home from work each day, unharmed Advises Operations and HSE Personnel in developing workforce HSE skills (e.g., pro-active reporting, risk identification, care in routine operations) Educates on applicable HSE requirements (e.g., laws/regulations, customer requirements, and OII policies/initiatives) Verifies compliance with applicable HSE requirements (e.g., HSE Audits/Assessments/Inspections/ISO 14001/OHSAS 18001) Participates in up-front project planning/scoping discussions to assist in capturing HSE requirement Collects, trends, and reports on HSE data (e.g., trends in pro-active reporting, near-hits, incidents) Participates in and/or leads incident and root cause investigations (e.g., root cause, lessons learned, and developing corrective actions) Develops HSE schedules and budgets Tracks corrective actions to completion Works with customers to ensure appropriate two-way communication and lesson sharing Domestic and international travel is required (20%) Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Reporting Relationship This position reports to the Regional HSE Director Qualifications Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Health, Safety, Environmental or related field. At least seven (7) years of relevant Oil & Gas industry experience. Must have knowledge of applicable HSE laws, regulations, and industry standards and an awareness of BehaviorBased Safety Culture Must be able to provide evidence of effective change and improvement in safety metrics DESIRED Knowledge and ability to lead risk assessments, identify aspects and impacts, and perform HSE needs analysis and implementation Proven leadership skills with a track record of successful,collaborative change leadership and management Proficient with MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, And Other Characteristics Observes safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action beyond guidelines Strives to increase productivity Works well in group problem solving situations Demonstrates knowledge of market and competition Additional Information Working Conditions This position is considered OFFICE WORK which is characterized as follows.
