General Manager

Job Description : We are seeking an experienced professional to lead the DAP/NPK Fertilizer Unit at ICS, ensuring achievement of production targets, cost optimization, high-quality standards, and strict adherence to safety and compliance norms. The role involves managing a large production team (~150), with direct leadership over 5–6 managers, and driving continuous improvement initiatives in a high-capacity fertilizer plant (current capacity: 2,50,000 tons annually with expansion plans in pipeline). Position: DAP/NPK Head – Fertilizer Production Location: Mbao, Senegal Business Unit: Indorama, Senegal (ICS) Key Responsibilities: Lead and oversee fertilizer production operations to achieve daily, monthly & annual targets. Optimize cost, quality, and efficiency while ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory standards. Plan and manage maintenance, shutdowns, utilities, and bagging operations. Drive process improvements, cost optimization, and expansion projects. Coordinate with marketing for product trials, bagging, and dispatch. Ensure effective storage, loading/unloading, and handling of Phosphoric Acid, Ammonia, and Fertilizers. Lead and develop the production team through training, mentoring, and succession planning. Maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies, NGOs, and local communities. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering. Around 25 years of experience in DAP/NPK fertilizer manufacturing. Strong knowledge of fertilizer manufacturing processes, equipment, and safety standards. Commercial acumen and leadership skills to manage large teams. Key Performance Indicators: Adherence to production plan & quality standards. Zero accidents and strict safety compliance. Waste reduction and cost optimization.
