Job Description : CEO NIGERIA DIVISION/DEPARTMENT:Management REPORTS TO:Board of Directors DIRECT REPORTS - All Departments JOB SUMMARY The CEO provides the leadership, strategy and vision in all aspects of the company's operations that will enhance shareholder value. Oversees and controls all strategic and business aspects of the company. Responsible for making major corporate decisions, manages the company's overall resources and operations, and communicates with the board of directors, management team, and corporate operations. Develops initiatives and business objectives to direct the company to become more efficient, grow and be profitable while creating a supportive workplace for our employees. Works closely with the senior executive team and managers to instill a cohesive vision. Upholds the company's values while leading it to financial success. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Strategy - Leads development and growth initiatives of the company. Implements company's short and long-term strategy; - Formulates and implements the strategic plan that guides the direction of the business; - Serves as a brand ambassador and chief spokesperson for the company leading public and other stakeholder engagements; - Serves as a tactical and strategic leader to the management team and board of directors; - Oversees the organizations financial structure, ensuring adequate and sound funding for the mission and goals of the company; - Reviews the financial results of all operations, comparing them with the company's objectives and taking appropriate measures to correct unsatisfactory performance and results; - Oversees the complete operation of the company in accordance with the direction established in the strategic plans; - Reviews company's current risk exposure, monitors and provides guidelines on how risks can be mitigated; - Develops company-wide performance goals and ensures the metrics set are achieved; - Works closely with the management team in ensuring that the needs of customers are met. Develops new partnerships, strategic alliances and other engagements that will promote the company's brand, increase sales and lead to growth. Team Management - Evaluates the performance of team leads and head of departments; - Creates and motivates a high performing team that is innovative and goal oriented; - Works closely with the management team to ensure human resources and skills required to achieve company's goals are available and not duplicated; - Encourages employee engagement and team building; - Ensures staff and the board have sufficient and up-to-date information about the company; Business Operations - Oversees all operations and business activities; - Achieves business sales and distribution objectives while ensuring company's financial objectives are achieved; - Develops excellent distribution standards across the nation that comprises a mix of traditional and innovative practices; - Works on developing distributions practices that will enable and promote sales growth; - Enforces adherence to legal guidelines, in-house policies and business ethics; - Ensures the company's compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and standards; - Utilizes financial and non-financial reports in making business decisions; - Builds relations with key partners, stakeholders and board of directors; - Keeps abreast of the markets and industry trends; - Participates in industry-related events that will enhance brand visibility and the organization's reputation; - Negotiates or approves agreements and contracts for the company; - Represents the company in events, attends board and shareholder meetings. EDUCATION: - Bachelors degree in business administration, economics or a related field - MBA or Masters in relevant field KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS: - Knowledge of finance and ability to read and interpret financial information - Ability to build consensus and relationships among executives and partners - Experience with corporate governance - Proven negotiation skills - Ability to understand new issues quickly and make wise decisions SKILLS REQUIRED: - Communicating and presenting information - Leading and supervising - Formulating strategies and concepts - Presenting and communicating information - Entrepreneurial and commercial thinking - Working with people - Applying expertise and technology - Analyzing - Creating and innovating - Problem solving WORK EXPERIENCE: - Minimum 15 years post NYSC experience with at least 5 years in a senior management role or related position; - Africa Experience is Mandatory
