10 yearsJob Description : Expatriate Production Manager – Wheat Milling Location: Nigeria Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary The Expatriate Production Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the wheat milling plant, ensuring the achievement of production targets, product quality, cost efficiency, and compliance with safety and food standards. The role requires a highly skilled professional with extensive milling experience who can lead local teams, optimize plant operations, and transfer technical expertise to build sustainable capabilities. Key Responsibilities Production & Operations Oversee and manage all aspects of wheat milling production to ensure efficiency, quality, and consistency of output. Plan, coordinate, and monitor daily milling schedules to meet customer and market demand. Optimize machine utilization, raw material handling, and energy consumption. Implement continuous improvement initiatives in line with global best practices. Quality & Food Safety Ensure all products meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements. Work closely with Quality Assurance (QA) and laboratory teams to monitor quality parameters. Enforce compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points (HACCP), and other food safety protocols. People Management & Training Lead, mentor, and train local production staff to build capacity and technical knowledge. Foster a culture of safety, discipline, and accountability on the shop floor. Conduct performance reviews, identify training needs, and develop technical skill-building programs. Maintenance & Equipment Management Collaborate with the engineering/maintenance team to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimal downtime. Recommend upgrades, modifications, or replacements for milling machinery. Reporting & Documentation Maintain accurate records of production volumes, losses, and downtime. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production performance reports for management. Provide insights for operational decision-making and cost management. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Grain Milling, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. Minimum 10 years’ experience in wheat milling, with at least 5 years in a managerial/leadership role. Strong technical knowledge of milling processes, machinery, and automation systems. Proven ability to manage multicultural teams and transfer technical expertise. Familiarity with international quality and food safety standards (ISO, HACCP, GMP, etc.). Expatriate experience in Nigeria or any other African country will be an advantage.
